Two somebodies, actually, since the twin to this car shows up to my work semi-regularly. Can’t say I’d buy one, but it’s the only way you’d ever get me in a Q5.

Does the owner lick storefront windows and have hair coming out of his ears?

It needs a R added to the name for it to be worth it. Saw loads of RSQ3 in Switzerland and those were SEHW COOOL.

You don’t have to be *that* crazy to own one.

There are far worse options in the luxury midsize tall heavy awd hatchback crossover segment.
Honestly the only thing bad I have to say about it is Audi didn’t see fit to make the rear Sport Differential available. Whereas all versions of the Macan have available Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. So...for similar money as the SQ5, I’d probably go for a Macan S with PTV+.

There’s nothing wrong with the Q5. It’s a good car, I just find it boring and would choose and X3 (wait I did), or Discovery Sport over it.

How come you would choose an X3 over an SQ5?

Not over an SQ5, over the normal Q5. I’d take an SQ5 over our car any day, but they were too expensive.

I’m a BMW fan and driver. I generally find Audis to be nice looking but boring cars.
I’ve found both generations of the X3 rather unattractive. So if I had to choose between an SQ5 and say, an X3 35i M Sport, it’d be tough. I’d have to drive them to decide.
But hey, I’ve got a 135is and not an S5 even though the S5 looks way better.

I understand. Frankly, they both make great cars, which is why we have one of each!

In SoCal these are popular cars for moms to shuttle their toddlers around in. Why you need that much power to go to Target, I don’t know.

Nice parking job...
Not surprisingly, when I searched for that meme, this picture also showed up:

A friend has one at work. She had quite a bit of trouble with the automatic gearbox in it (3.0litre). Audi wanted £8,000 to replace the gearbox. Local specialist has heard it’s quite a common fault on the 3.0litre (Audi USA has owned up and will sort it in the U.S. market, though Audi UK won’t admit there is a fault) and found that in the USA, Audi recommended a particular lubricant be added to the gearbox oil, thankfully it’s all sorted now.
It looks quite a nice car, just not my sort of car really.
